The Shadow's Light
In desperation I lie.
Out of shadows I see
His eyes, until he turns.
He thinks but only follows
Those who pretend not to see,
Despite light upon them.
His shoes reflect
A life with hope, how sweet.
My shoes, despair.
Walk me only to the nothing,
Better than this, it must be.
Mind led astray, thoughts never revealed.
Only inside I scream
For reason to live another day.
In desperation he lies.
Into shadows I see
His eyes, until I turn.
I think but only follow
Those who do not see.
They shine so brightly,
For light is upon them.
His shoes, despair.
Walk me only to the nothing,
Better than that, it must be.
Mind led astray, thoughts never revealed.
A scream.
His shoes, then hope.
In the shadows we sit,
Until the blinding light.
How that blinding light shines
And reflects so brightly
From his shoes.
