Hubble Space Telescope

When the Hubble Space Telescope takes a picture of a galaxy that is 1 million light years away, you are not seeing what the galaxy now looks like, but what it looked like a million years ago. As if you are looking at something so far away that it takes a million years for the light to finally reach your eye, the Hubble Space Telescope is essentially allowing us to look back in time to an unfathomable past.
